NEW ENGLAND HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION STRONGLY CONDEMNS PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP’S EXECUTIVE ORDER ON IMMIGRATION

Boston, Massachusetts - It only takes a week for President Donald Trump, as part of the ALT-RIGHT political agenda grounded in Islam phobia, xenophobia, ethnocentrism, and fear mongering to gradually begin delivering on his campaign promises by eviscerating the moral fabric and core values that have made this country exceptional and a magnet for people around the world who aspire greater opportunity, freedom, and liberty for centuries.

“It is with great dismay and consternation that we at the NEW ENGLAND HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION watch Muslim families across this country being torn apart and being subject to shame, humiliation, injustice, and invidious discrimination in the heel of this ill-advised and downright unconstitutional executive order issued by President Trump days ago,” said Josue Renaud, MS, M. Ed., President of the NEW ENGLAND HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION.

The NEW ENGLAND HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION condemns in the strongest terms any Executive Order barring Muslim persons as well as citizens from countries listed in the Executive Order from entering the United States. While we believe in securing our borders, it is our position that this Executive Order will, if anything, serve as an impetus for ISIS extremists and radicals to do harm to our servicemen and servicewomen currently stationed in the Middle East fighting the terror and death squad named ISIS.

Even more alarming, the Executive Order as written and implemented will be used as a rallying cry and recruitment tool to indoctrinate impressionable young men here in United States to join ISIS terror squad and do harm to innocent men, women, and children.

“The administration should strongly reconsider or re-calibrate the implementation of the Executive Order to comport with the constitutional safeguards enshrined in our Constitution and afforded to citizens, legal residents, and visitors alike without account to nationality, religion, and country of origin”, opined Attorney Richard Champagne, General Counsel for the NEW ENGLAND HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION.

Our open immigration system has been one of the greatest hallmarks of our American heritage. It has kept our nation young and vibrant. Indeed, because of our rich diversity, our nation has enjoyed a competitive edge in innovation, entrepreneurship, science, art, education, and our armed forces.
The NEW ENGLAND HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION respectfully wishes to remind President Trump that if his discriminatory Executive Order were ever the law of the land, the Apple computers and Apple telephones invented by Steve Job, one of the greatest innovators and inventors of the twenty-first century would not have come to fruition for him and his staff to use in the White House.

NEW ENGLAND HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION The NEW ENGLAND HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION is a Massachusetts Not for Profit Organization, with chapters in Canada, France, Dominican Republic, and in Haiti, whose mission is to promote the rule of law and the administration of justice, and to advocate for individuals whose rights are being violated both in the U.S. and abroad.
